SULLIVAN-CUKIERSKI SITE DIG ON 1 JUNE 2016

 Sullivan-Cukierski Site Dig on 1 JUNE 2016
 Walter Cukierski
This summer, 2016, the Chenango Chapter is digging at the Sullivan-Cukierski Site (formerly the Moot-Sullivan site) in the Town of Stockbridge in Madison County. This site was described by Monte Bennett in an article, "The Moot site", in the Chenango Chapter NYSAA bulletin, June 1973, volume 14 number 1. It was a major trade village and Jesuit Mission.

Here is an overview.

Here are some of findings:   9 glass trade beads, a whole brass arrowhead, a rolled brass bangle, a kaolin pipe stem, a spent musket ball and a piece of Indian pottery.

Below is one of our careful diggers.
